The origins of Mombercelli go back
long long ago; it is on Aleramic period when Sebastiano del Vasto
mentions it on a first document on 1125 (Astensis Code).
Even though the name of Mombercelli is missed in the Romance language
Mons Bersarium or Mons Bergerium, we are pleased to remember the
longobardic Mombirsan (hunting place) or the piedmontese etymology
from the arcaic “birla” (betulla).
